Real Estate Fresh Finds: Sept. 20

Real Estate Fresh Finds is a weekly selection of newly-listed properties in the District, brought to you by Real Living At Home.

Property listings haven’t seemed to slow much since last week. Whether you’re looking for a condo, a rowhouse or a Scrooge McDuck-sized mansion to swim in your money, there’s something for everyone on the market this week. Check out our “Fresh Finds” below:

  • This unnecessarily huge mansion in Kent has been on and off the market for the past 5 years, originally listed for $16m and now down to the low, low price of $8.1m, making this the most expensive property to hit the market this week and the 6th most expensive in DC this year.
  • Burleith 3 bedroom Colonial rowhouse “sold as-is and in need of some updating” could be the perfect renovation project with “vision, creativity (and a little $$)”.
  • A new construction farmhouse in Petworth has an intriguing layout and is 1 of 4 units in the building overall, this being the larger of the two on the right half.
  • A fairly well-maintained and updated studio condo near Southwest Waterfront for under $260k is the best REO/Bank-Owned property of the week.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
