Your Afternoon Animal Fix – AdoPtville

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. AdoPtville is run by two volunteers who compile these pets weekly from local shelters.

“These stunning Abyssinian mix cats are searching for a true forever home, either together or separately. Sadly, due to allergies and work schedule issues, their human recently decided to return them at nearly a year old, which is especially heartbreaking, since they had originally been rescued from a low-resource shelter in South Carolina.  But their tough start in life, loss of their home, and being shuffled to a new foster home hasn’t dampened their spirits, as these girls remain lighthearted, playful, and affectionate with their humans and one another. Their foster reports that they have perfect litter box manners and have adjusted well.  While they have been together all their lives and play and cuddle with one another, they do not necessarily need to be adopted together. But they do make a perfect pair if you agree that cats are like potato chips…. you can’t have just one! They’re fully vetted and would make a great addition to just about any family. You can submit an adoption application for one or both of them through the DC PAWS website, at https://dcpawsrescue.org/adoption-info/.”

“Daisy Duke is an approximately 3-year-old AKC-registered Rottweiler.  She is very sweet, loves giving kisses, and is very lovable.  She is very gentle, but loves to destroy her toys.  She knows how to sit when she is presented with treats.  She loves being outside and loves to play.  She will chase a cat if it runs, but once it’s cornered she will just walk away – she just loves the chase!  She has rarely been around small children and will bark, but not growl at them.  She would do best with children over the age of 12.  She’s a beautiful and sweet girl looking for her forever home!  Learn more about Daisy Duke and apply to adopt her at ruraldogrescue.com

Couple more great guys after the jump.

“Iya is a beautiful Turkish Van mix who had been adopted out through 4Paws and was recently returned. Small children had entered into the household and their activity and noise level was too stressful for her. She is very affectionate with her humans but does not like other cats. Iya’s ideal setting will be as the only pet in a quiet home with adults or older children. Iya is available for either foster or adoption. She was born in 2004. Iya has been spayed, is current on vaccinations, tested negative for FIV and FELV, and has been micro chipped. Please contact [email protected] to find out more about adopting this gorgeous grande dame.”

“This handsome fellow is Wayne, a two year old Terrier mix who weighs 20 lbs. If he looks wiser than his years, it’s partially due to his breed, and partially due to the fact that his family never came to claim him at the shelter when he was found as a stray, even though they said they were on their way.  Wayne is a wonderful dog with an adorable underbite who is also very smart! He’s treat motivated and would love a family to teach him a few tricks.  He does well with children and other dogs; we haven’t cat tested him yet, but certainly can.  He’s generally pretty mellow, but also makes the perfect walking or hiking companion.  If you want to be the human to prove to Wayne that forever means forever, please submit an adoption application through the DC PAWS Rescue website, at https://dcpawsrescue.org/adoption-info/

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
