Your Afternoon Animal Fix – AdoPtville

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood.

“Ariel is a beautiful 2 year old MAINE COON girl. She is used to living with other cats, but is scared of dogs. Ariel was adopted as a kitten but returned as an adult (through no fault of her own, she’s a sweetie), so she’s confused and used to having humans to love. She is looking for her forever home. If you are interested in adopting Ariel, please email [email protected]

“Anakin is sweet, lovable and fun! Approximately 3 years old and about 50 pounds, he loves marrow bones, bully sticks and treats! He’s very food motivated, knows how to sit, and LOVES being outside, especially if he can chase squirrels and birds. He would make a great family dog, probably a good running partner, hiking, etc. – he thinks you chasing him is the best game ever! Anakin has shown no problems with kids, but has not been cat tested. He’s great on leash and is overall an easy boy. If you’re interested in adopting Anakin, please email [email protected] or complete the application at www.ruraldogrescue.com”

“Jax is a dog with a very sad story, looking for his happy ending. He was rescued from Kuwait, where he was living on the streets and subjected to taunting and even severe physical abuse. Jax arrived in the U.S. in March, and, thanks to making both human and doggy friends here, is learning to trust, and is just as loving as can be. He likes to play, and cuddle, and he is a lapdog. He has adjusted to his new world and has shaken off his life of neglect and abuse. He is a very special boy and needs a very special, loving, accepting, and caring home. If you’re interested in adopting Jax, please email [email protected] Ruff Ranch Sanctuary is run by veterans – they are “Vets Saving Pets” www.ruffranchsanctuary.com (Please note, while Ruff Ranch is in Middletown, they will come to potential adopters in our area, so don’t let distance be a deterrent!)”

“Pinky, as you may have noticed, is a pot-bellied pig! Her owner recently passed away unexpectedly, and the good folks at Gray Face Acres are doing their best to care for her, but she is really in need of an experienced piggy home! Pinky was raised in the house with free roam of house and outside. At GFA she has only been outside but is loving her mud, her barn full of hay and and belly rubs! She needs to go to a home where her humans really understand pig behavior, how to work with pigs and how to help her adjust to her new home. She is just over a year old and about 170 lbs. You can find out more about Pinky by contacting GFA through www.grayfaceacres.org”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
