District Distilling Co., “DC’s first combined distillery+ kitchen+ bar”, Opens Friday August 26 on U Street

“Located at 1414 U Street NW, on the Southwest corner of 14th and U, the set of historic row houses situated on an 8,000sq/ft. space, combines a state-of-the-art craft distillery + retail store on the first floor, and a full-service kitchen + bar with seating for 140 guests on the second floor. The space is outfitted with several distinct rooms that can accommodate private events for groups up to 170 people.

The kitchen will serve seasonal American dishes and the bar will feature products from leading craft distilleries and breweries throughout the U.S as well as a handpicked wine list.

“After years of work, we’re thrilled to open our doors at the heart of 14th and U,” said Chae Yi, President and CEO of District Distilling Co. “We’ve brought together an amazing team of distilling, dining and hospitality experts, and we’re excited to share our passion with the neighborhood and the rest of the DC region.”

Chae is joined by Head Distiller, Matthew Strickland; Executive Chef, Justin Bittner; Kitchen + Bar General Manager, Said Haddad; and Retail and Special Events Manager, Kerri Welsh.

District Distilling Co. will serve their premiere vodka, gin, white rum and bourbon onsite in the upcoming weeks and bottles will be available for purchase in September. Additional spirits will be released on an ongoing basis throughout the fall and 2017.

The Kitchen + Bar is now accepting dinner reservations for August 26 onward with brunch service soon to follow. Distillery tours will be offered in September.
