FinishingSchool

From The Shakespeare Theatre Company:

“We’re working with director Ed Sylvanus Iskandar on a production of The Taming of the Shrew, which will include turning our lobbies into an Italian open-air style marketplace complete with a series of workshops and events we’re calling Padua Finishing School: a place for those who are never finished. The idea behind the workshops is to challenge traditional finishing school lessons and turn them into programming that would appeal to any life-long learner. We have some PoPville favorites leading the workshops (Hamiltonian Gallery, lots of regulars from The Lemon Bowl) as well as some out-of-town and lesser known artists. The complete list, which is still growing, can be found here: www.ShakespeareTheatre.org/Padua-Finishing-School

Workshops run from $12-65 and include Weaving for Beginners, Intro to Painting, How to Plant a Vertical Garden, Self-Care Practices, and many more.

We will also have happy hour events in the market that include anything from Vermouth Tasting to How to Make Sangria.

All of these events can standalone or accompany an evening at Iskandar’s The Taming of the Shrew, which begins May 17. Ed is known for his “immersive theatre style” so patrons can expect to meet actors in the lobby, be invited onstage to grab a drink and a bite of Katherina’s wedding cake and enjoy live music during this avant-garde performance. Ed’s philosophy is that guests should be able to choose their level of participation based on their comfort level, so we are excited to welcome guests to join us for whatever part of this project they wish.”

Sweet City Rolls Rides

Thanks to Jeff for sending this beautiful convertible Rolls Royce Corniche II:

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
