From a press release:

“Trammell Crow Company (TCC), Fort Lincoln New Town Corporation and CSG Urban Partners announced that three additional national retailers have joined the tenant roster at Shops at Dakota Crossing, a 430,000-square-foot, Class A retail center currently anchored by Costco and Lowe’s. DICK’s Sporting Goods (NYSE: DKS), PetSmart, Inc. and a third national retailer signed long-term leases to occupy a combined square footage of 85,500.

Ed. Note: Washington Business Journal reports the third retail will be Marshalls.

In a continuing trend started by Costco and Lowe’s, the new DICK’s Sporting Goods will be the retailer’s first store in the District of Columbia. Construction on the final phase of the Project has started and will be complete in 4Q 2016. With these transactions, Shops at Dakota Crossing is over 87 percent occupied.

Located on 44 acres of land along the northeastern edge of the District of Columbia, the site of this world-class retail center is passed by more than 100,000 commuters, tourists and other drivers on a daily basis. A part of the Fort Lincoln neighborhood, the stores and restaurants of the Shops at Dakota Crossing are within walking distance to one of the most vibrant and successful residential communities in Ward 5.

The remaining retail space will be occupied by a variety of tenants including small shops and restaurants and will incorporate a mixture of neighborhood retailers and national chains. The Shops at Dakota Crossing retail center includes many neighborhood-friendly design features, including a central, walkable “Main Street” of small shops and restaurants, pedestrian-friendly connections to the surrounding residential developments and several public plazas and open spaces with outdoor seating.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
