Arrests Made in Series of Related Robberies in Edgewood and Shaw

“On Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at approximately 7:00 pm, in the 1800 block of Bladensburg, Road, Northeast, members from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District Detectives Unit announced the arrest of two juvenile males in connection with a series of robberies which occurred along the Metropolitan Branch Trail in Northeast, Washington, DC.

Robberies occurred at the following locations on Sunday, March 22, 2015:

· 700 block of Edgewood Street Northeast at approximately 11:00 am

· 500 block of V Street Northeast at approximately 4:25 pm

· 600 block Rhode Island Avenue Northeast at approximately 6:50 pm

· 8th and Edgewood Streets Northeast at approximately 7:17 pm

Additionally, the two juvenile suspects were charged with a fifth robbery which occurred on Monday, March 23, 2015, at approximately 6:30 pm in the 700 block of Edgewood Street, Northeast.

In all five offenses, a knife was displayed during the commission of these robberies.”

Also:

“Multiple arrests were made today for the 7th street robberies.

Additionally, the suspect responsible for the 10th St robberies was also arrested this evening.

He will also be charged with multiple robberies that occurred in the Fifth Police District.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
