On Friday, we wrote about the developments happening now at the U Street Corridor. Time to talk about another one, 2030AP. PoPville has been covering this story over the past year. Last June, developer The JBG Companies started demolishing the old Atlantic Plumbing Supply Company at 8th and V to make way for the new two-building complex.
The residential southern building of the development, 2030AP at 2030 8th Street, will consist of 63 condo units with floor-to-ceiling windows — a striking design by architect Morris Adjmi. 2030AP will also feature a rooftop garden and interiors designed to mirror the once-industrial, now-artsy neighborhood. In addition to the 63 residential units, the building will have 4,700 feet of retail.
Atlantic Plumbing, the bigger, mixed-use building across the street, on the northwest corner next to the 9:30 Club, will house the new Landmark Theater and the Washington Project for the Arts.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!
The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!
What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
