From a press release:

“Cafe Deluxe is thrilled to announce the opening of its West End location, situated on the first level of the new Hilton Garden Inn on the corner of 22nd and M Streets NW. This is the American bistro’s second spot in the District, following the original restaurant on Wisconsin Avenue, and fifth outpost overall to hit the Greater Washington, DC area.

Cafe Deluxe West End offers residents, businesspeople and hotel guests alike the ideal dining destination for delicious meals with friends and family, meetings or happy hour with colleagues as well as special events for any occasion. The eatery will continue to provide its signature fresh classics from scratch, now with extended service periods and expanded menus that bring new dishes into the mix.

The newest location boasts diverse breakfast, lunch, brunch, happy hour and dinner menus that combine seasonal ingredients with bold flavors. Guests can continue to enjoy the favorites they know and love like gourmet flatbreads, artisan sandwiches, burgers, PEI mussels and classic entrées like the Grilled Salmon, Braised Boneless Short Rib and Chicken Pot Pie. New standouts include the seared Ahi Tuna Steak served with mango relish, balsamic reduction and sautéed asparagus. Also new to the Cafe Deluxe West End menu is a 14 oz. New York Strip accompanied by Brussels sprouts, bacon onion marmalade and horseradish mashed potatoes. For diners with dietary restrictions, a gluten free menu is available upon request.

An expanded brunch menu is offered Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 11am as well as Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 3pm. Guests can kick start their day with lighter choices, such as the Healthy Deluxe—egg whites folded over freshly roasted veggies served with salsa and avocado pico. In addition, Cafe Deluxe offers a selection of Egg Benedicts, specialty and Build-Your-Own Omelets, indulgent French Toast and signature confections like Beignets and Sully’s Coffee Cake.

The full bar features over 60 wines, an expansive beer menu with thirteen selections on tap, including four rotating seasonal options, and a variety of new cocktails. Happy Hour, offered Monday through Friday from 3:30pm to 7pm, will surely be on everyone’s radar, with $4 Stella Artois drafts and house wines, $5 Margaritas and Cosmos and $1 off all draft beers. An array of bar bites, each packed with delicious flavor, include Prosciutto Mac and Cheese, Sliders, Crispy Chicken Rolls, Apple and Brie Flatbread, Calamari and Mussels.

Cafe Deluxe West End showcases some new interior design aspects. The 5,000 square foot space, designed by local firm GTM Architects, features rich-colored leather booths, mahogany furniture and oversized mirrors that create a sparkling energy fit for the neighborhood. Impressive floor to ceiling windows at the front of the restaurant open up onto the hustle and bustle of 22nd and M Streets.

The dining room accommodates up to 124 people with seating for 38 at the bar. A patio that seats up to 40 people will be opening later in the summer. A private dining space with capacity to seat up to 40 people offers personalized menus, natural lighting, audio visual capabilities and complimentary Wi-Fi among other amenities. An additional 2,500 square feet of banquet space, which can be divided into thirds, is available for corporate and social events with catering by Cafe Deluxe.

Cafe Deluxe West End is located at 2201 M Street NW and is open Monday through Thursday, 6:30am to 11:00pm, Friday 6:30am to 12:30am, Saturday 7:00am to 12:30am and Sunday 10:00am to 11:00pm.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
