All Hallows Guild’s Flower Mart 2014

WHEN:
Friday, May 2, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday, May 3, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

WHERE:
On the grounds of Washington National Cathedral
Wisconsin and Massachusetts Avenues, N.W.

GETTING THERE:
There is parking in the Cathedral garage, and shuttle buses will run from Tenleytown Metro stop on both days. Any #30 series bus, as well as Old Town Trolley, stops directly in front of the Cathedral.

With less than two weeks until the opening of Flower Mart 2014 celebrating its Diamond Jubilee, National Cathedral is thrilled to announce just a few of the unique performing groups and entertainment options featured throughout the two-day extravaganza

• Australian didgeridoo performer Cameron McCarthy

• Regensburger Domspatzen (German Men and Boys Choir)

• Karpouzi Trio: traditional Greek instruments

• Mezeskalacs Folkdance (translates as “gingerbread” in English)—young Hungarian Folkdancers

• The First Battalion Scots Guards (Centuries-old Scottish pipe and drums ensemble)

• Taiko Performers (dynamic full-body Japanese drumming)

• Andrei Pidkivka and Solomia Gorokhivska (Ukranian flutist and violinist/pianist)

• Onion Patch Boys (favorite local bluegrass band)

• Howard University Gospel Choir

• Howard University Gospel Choir

• Elite Cheerleading Squad from Sasha Bruce Network

• Terry Bender, Organ Grinder

• Washington Ringing Society

• Tower Climb: to the bell tower; Tour is every half hour from10-3:30; Tickets- $10

• 1890s Carousel: one of one only two wooden carousels in the United States with hand carved figures. The Caliola, which supplies the music, was manufactured by Wurlitzer in 1937 and one of only seven band organs made with brass pipes.

• Twenty-two International Floral Displays donated by various Embassies in the Cathedral Nave.”
