In early November it was looking like Dunya was ready to open any day – well it took about a month but they’re finally open. Their website says:

“Restauranteur Hasnaa Farouidi and creative director Neema Sadeghi teamed up with Chef Rafael Viera, bringing a new spin on traditional Mediterranean cuisine.

Dunya Restaurant & Bar is a community oriented establishment, supporting local farms and butchers as often as possible.

Dunya Restaurant & Bar, located in the U St./Shaw neighborhood of Washington D.C, specializes in Modern American cuisine with a global Mediterranean twist.

Dunya Restaurant & Bar offers a diverse selection of wine from all over the world, as well as supporting local craft brewers from the greater Washington D.C area. Dunya Restaraunt & Bar is a multi level venue, with a Rooftop Bar that is slated to open Spring of 2014.”

You can see their full menu here.

Hours are SUNDAY TO THURSDAY 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM and FRIDAY TO SATURDAY 5:00 PM – 3:00 AM.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
