You can talk about whatever is on your mind – quality of life issues, a beautiful tree you spotted, scuttlebutt, or any random questions/thoughts you may have. But please no personal attacks and no need to correct people’s grammar. This is a place to vent and/or celebrate things about daily life in DC.

Looking forward to seeing folks tonight at Meridian Pint (11th and Park Road, NW) to celebrate 7 years of PoPville. The kind folks at DC Brau have fixed up a special cask of Public Pale Ale that has been conditioning about 1 month. All DC Brau will be $1 off. But this is really a casual affair just a chance to say hi and thanks for all your support and of course a chance to tip back some delicious beers. Folks will be milling around – I’ll be wearing a green PoP shirt and blue ball cap in case you can’t find me. I’ll be there from 5(ish) to 11(ish) depending on when I pass out… Little kids and babies welcome on the early end. And thanks to Meridian Pint, DC Brau all who’ve been so supportive to me over these past 7 years. Looking forward to the next 7!

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
