Update from Pepco:

“Pepco is responding to an event at our I Street Substation in the Foggy Bottom area of the District that has resulted in power outages for approximately 1,100 customers. We understand how disruptive an outage can be, and we appreciate our customers’ patience as our crews work to restore service.

Pepco crews are on site assessing conditions and are working safely and as quickly as possible to restore power. At this time, the cause of the event remains under investigation.

Because the situation is still developing, we do not yet have an estimated restoration time. We will share updates as more information becomes available. For their safety, we ask residents and visitors to stay clear of work areas. Customers can report outages and check restoration updates at pepco.com, through the Pepco mobile app, or by calling 1-877-PEPCO-62 (1-877-737-2662).”
