“Support the Troxler Family as they recover from a fire
For more than three decades, Sylvester Troxler Sr. has been a vital presence in his Petworth neighborhood, extending a warm welcome to family, friends and neighbors with a spirit of generosity that is increasingly rare. In a city frequently burdened by political and personal stress, Mr. Troxler and his beloved late wife, Kathleen Troxler, consistently offered a sense of calm, kindness and steadfastness. It was not uncommon to see Mr. Troxler tending to his garden or mowing his lawn, and often those of his neighbors, without seeking anything in return. He consistently demonstrates a friendly demeanor, always ready to offer an encouraging word or lend an ear to the neighborhood children as they discuss their sports activities.
On Monday, August 3, Mr. Troxler, his son and granddaughter, experienced a profound loss when their house was engulfed in flames.
With the family’s permission, we have established this GoFundMe campaign to provide their community with an opportunity to assist them in rebuilding their lives from scratch. The family is facing numerous immediate needs while they await the activation of their insurance coverage; your kind contributions will help support them as they navigate the recovery process from this devastating incident. Let us unite to uplift The Troxler family, just as they have uplifted our community for over 30 years.”
