Thanks to all who messaged/emailed us about the huge police presence by the Petworth Metro last night. MPD tells me:
“On Thursday, September 17, 2026, at approximately 6:05 p.m., Fourth District officers responded to the 3700 block of New Hampshire Avenue, Northwest, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located two adult males, both conscious and breathing, suffering from gunshot wounds.
DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported the victims to local hospitals for treatment. The preliminary description of the suspect is a black male, 5’8″, slim build, wearing a navy-blue hoodie, black pants, and armed with a black pistol.
