Thanks to Natalie for sending the wild shot above from Dupont Circle.

And thanks to Mara for sending the crazy shots below: “Huge tree blocking off northern most spoke of Dupont Circle this morning. Maybe it got struck by lightning? You hate to see it.”

From Alert DC:

“As a result of overnight storms, there may be delays to the morning commute. Travelers should plan for additional travel time and stay aware of changing conditions.

What to expect this morning:

• Roadways across the District may have residual flooding, debris, or temporary lane closures as crews continue storm cleanup.
• Metrobus and Metrorail services may be operating with delays due to weather impacts on tracks, electrical systems, and road conditions.
• Traffic congestion may be heavier than usual as drivers adjust routes around impacted areas.
• Pedestrians should use caution, as some sidewalks and intersections may still have standing water or debris.

How commuters can stay prepared:

• Leave earlier than usual to help account for anticipated delays.
• Check real time updates from DDOT, WMATA, and local traffic services before beginning your trip.
• Use caution when driving or walking through areas still affected by the storms.
• Report hazardous conditions when you encounter them.

Residents may call DC 311 at 311 or (202) 737-4404 if calling from outside the District to report hazardous conditions in the District resulting from overnight storms.”
