I received a call from a “No Caller ID” number today. The voicemail (see transcript below) claimed to be Nathaniel Porter of the Metropolitan Police Department trying to reach me about an urgent matter.
I looked the name up and he is a real captain but the message seemed off and the call back number didn’t match any DC police number. I emailed Captain Porter for awareness and to confirm this was a scam but didn’t hear back (so seems safe to assume he was not trying to urgently reach me!). Super creeped out and wanted to flag in case they are targeting other DC residents! Trust your spidey sense!”
