“Dear PoPville,
would be willing to amplify a gofundme for a local man who was detained by ICE at his job on Monday. Willian is being held by at the Farmville detention center. His mother, Ana, has been my children’s nanny for nearly 4 years and I’m doing whatever I can to help – and quickly realize the thing most in my control is to help reduce the financial burden for the family.”
The gofundme says:
“For nearly four years, Ana has been a cherished part of our family. She has cared for our children with unwavering love, patience, and dedication, and over the years she has become much more than an employee—she has become family.
This week, her son, Willian, was detained by ICE while at work. Willian is the devoted father of two young U.S.-citizen children and the son of a naturalized U.S. citizen. He has been participating in the immigration process for years, has active work authorization issued by the U.S. government, and was actively pursuing his case through the legal system. His detention has left his family facing uncertainty and significant legal expenses at a moment when they should be focused on supporting one another.
Willian’s legal team is actively working on his behalf, and the family is committed to pursuing every available legal avenue. As anyone who has navigated a complex legal matter knows, the costs can add up quickly. We are raising funds to help cover immigration attorney fees, federal court and legal filing expenses, travel and communication costs related to his detention, and support for his children and family during this difficult period.
Anyone who knows Ana knows how devoted she is to her family and how much she has given to those around her. We hope to surround her with the same support and generosity she has shown others for so many years. If you are able, please consider making a contribution. Every donation, share, and message of encouragement will help ease the burden on a family navigating an incredibly challenging time. Thank you for your kindness, support, and prayers.
UPDATE ❤️
A federal judge has ordered that Willian cannot be transferred or removed while his case is reviewed.
This is an important step forward and gives his legal team the opportunity to continue advocating on his behalf.
Thank you for all the support so far. Legal fees continue to grow, and every donation makes a difference.”
