Ed. Note: What is this? Have people brought there own cans since the DC DPR cans haven’t been emptied?!?!
“Dear PoPville,
Has D.C. government checked out? Trash cans in Kalorama Park and Walter Pierce Park are all overflowing – and been so for a while.
DPR now says the situation has been escalated to its DPW liaison. Stay tuned.
UPDATE 4/30 After days and days and days, the cans were emptied this morning – just in time for Porchfest!”
I’ve wondered the same about full trans cans I’ve seen around town:
Monday update: Disgraceful. From Hearst Rec Center cans but I’ve been told this is the case at other parks too. pic.twitter.com/LOvbj5BChu

And not just in parks:
Anecdotal but damn this is a far too common view these days. Others seeing this too? pic.twitter.com/rowvLGGZIz

Council Member Christina Henderson writes:
“Way too many of our public trash cans look just like this. Our BIDs service trash cans in the commercial corridors 3-4 times a day. We’re lucky if DPW/DGS gets to public cans once a week.
DPW/DGS keep telling me they are working to increase frequency. Haven’t seen it yet.”

Also, if the cans are full, and yes they should definitely be picked up and this is a massive problem with city services, but again if the cans are full, maybe stop playing jenga with your dog shit bags?
