on any given day of the week, maman welcomes sleepy new yorkers, local celebrities, moms-on-the-go, business partners, and friends into one of our many locations. greeted by the scent of culinary splendor that wafts through the space, our guests step into an experience that engages all of the senses: rustic décor at every turn, the aroma and comfort of cuisines inspired by family traditions, and the highest quality ingredients. maman founders benjamin sormonte and elisa marshall have brought to life a melding of our earliest childhood experiences in the kitchen and a nod to their mothers from the south of france and north america. maman, after all, means “mother” in french. what started as an independent soho café and bakery is now a leading lifestyle brand that boasts cafés across north america.

maman stands for “mother” in french. our founders were inspired by their time in the kitchen with their very own “mamans” when naming the cafe.
do you take reservations?
no, maman is walk-in only. if you’d like to book a private event or a group booking for groups 8 or more, please reach out to our events team. all events require a 2 week minimum notice.
what kind of food do you serve?
maman serves a variety of seasonal french influenced cuisine. menus may vary per location, please visit your desired location to view the menu.
do you allow computers?
maman is a laptop free environment. we don’t offer wifi, but we do offer freshly baked cookies and a relaxing atmosphere! reading, chatting, & daydreaming is encouraged… make a new friend or call your maman!
how can i place an order?
customers can place food and beverage orders online or through the maman app. download it now in the app store or visit our website to place your order. pickup and delivery options are available. if you are looking for a retail item, visit our online shop page. our app is currently available for our u.s. locations only.
do you have menu options for those with allergies?
depending on the severity of your allergies, we would suggest that you be extremely cautious with ordering any of our baked goods. we do use all major allergens in our kitchens, therefore we cannot guarantee no cross contamination. please mention any allergies to our staff and they will be happy to assist in navigating our menu.

yes! we have many sweet and savory options – including our flakey and delicious vegan croissant. our servers are happy to assist you in finding a menu option that fits your taste.”
