Do you know if there is a reason why there aren’t any fruit stands downtown near the mall and federal triangle? There are pop up farmers markets in the summer one day a week, which is great, but I often just want to buy an apple or some berries on my way into the office,
and there are no groceries in the area. I’d bet there’s a market for a fruit stand or two near major commuting transit points! Some people would literally buy fruit every day for breakfast or snacks. The lack of these stands is kind of a big contrast with the many food trucks that line up on constitution and the mall, but that only sell overpriced ice cream, instant coffee, and a few frozen processed food items. I get that the shelf life for that stuff is better and the truck format may be easier to maneuver. Maybe a fruit truck is what we need?”
