I know Danny and I are obviously the best gifts you could ask for, but I thought a PoPville shout-out would be pretty cool too!
My family moved into Petworth around the time my brother was born,
only two years after the founding of PoPville. Since then, my dad has managed to capture a concerning number of rats in backyards, distribute countless baskets of cherry tomatoes, and even assist the police in catching a serial hammer assaulter. I have no idea how he manages to remember the names of all our neighbors or how he always seems to know when the block parties are happening. In fact, most of the money I made during my high school years was due to his relentless promotion of my babysitting skills to every parent in the neighborhood. He is always there for me, even when I’m being Little Punk #1.
Not only is he the Neighborhood Dad, he is an avid PoPville reader. The photo attached was taken back in 2018 in Galveston, Texas, showing off his PoPville merch. Thank you to Dan (the OG, not my brother) for agreeing to celebrate my dad on his favorite website.
