“Dear PoPville,
Our street, the 1600 block of Underwood St. NW, hasn’t been plowed a single time since the storm a week ago. In the last day alone my teenage son has helped at least three cars stuck in the street spinning their wheels on the ice. We have elderly and disabled residents restricted to their homes, unable to get to the grocery store or doctors office. We haven’t had mail delivery either the entire week.
We have called 311 repeatedly. The 1600 blocks of Van Buren and Tuckerman are equally messy and dangerous. Photo attached! (Don’t be distracted by the lovely sunset over the park…)”

“Dear PoPville,
I live in the Stronghold neighborhood in NE. None of our streets have been touched by a SINGLE plow. On Wednesday I walked 3 miles round trip to get a prescription for a neighbor. We dug out someone with 4WD to get salt today, salted the entire street ourselves, and started shoveling. But we have many senior citizens who can not assist. And i think I pulled my hamstring shoveling. 311 keeps closing all of our snow plow tickets, claiming that the roads have been cleared. 311 operators told me this is happening non-stop. We’ve reached out to politicians and DC public works to no avail. I fear help is never coming. Can you please flag our neighborhood for help?”
Above is the crazy video of Walters Streatery collapses from the weight of the snowcrete in Navy Yard.

and “Our DC flag took the brunt of the impact on this one in Kingman Park.”
Thank God nobody was walking up those steps when that happened…
