Prim’s Cafe is named after the owner’s daughter, Prim. The name serves as a double entendre — short for Primrose, meaning “the first given rose” or “the first bloom.” The concept reflects the cafe’s belief that a morning coffee sets the tone for the day.
“Your morning coffee is like the first given rose of your day,” said owner Ashley Blake, a restaurant owner and investor. “It helps your day bloom in the way you want it to. Prim’s Cafe is about honoring that moment, and honoring legacy — both the one we inherit and the one we create.”
Designed to feel cozy, soft and welcoming, the cafe draws inspiration from the warmth of a Southern grandmother’s home, a fond memory for Blake. The space was intentionally created to encourage connection, offering a comfortable environment for families, neighbors and friends to gather.

Prim’s Café serves specialty coffee made with beans sourced from Adee’s Coffee & Bar in Baltimore. The menu also includes a signature latte featuring house-made lavender syrup, a floral favorite that reflects the café’s bloom-inspired identity.
More than a coffee shop, Prim’s Cafe is rooted in the belief that strong neighborhoods are built through community and shared experiences. The cafe is especially welcoming to moms and children, offering a space designed for connection across generations.
“Community is what drives neighborhoods and strengthens families,” Blake said. “Prim’s Cafe is a place to connect, uplift and start the day with intention.”
