Many readers wrote in asking about what happened in Carter Barron Saturday night. Unfortunately very sad news to report.
From an MPD Spokesperson:
“On Saturday, December 6, 2025, at approximately 10:35 p.m., Fourth District officers and members of the United States Park Police responded to a parking lot in the 4800 block of Colorado Avenue, Northwest for the report of two unconscious individuals inside of a vehicle. Officers located one adult male and one adult female inside of a vehicle, both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and after all lifesaving measures failed, both adults were pronounced dead. The decedents were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where autopsies will be conducted to determine their manner of death. Based on the preliminary investigation, both decedents’ injuries are believed to be self-inflicted. A suicide note and two firearms were recovered from the vehicle where the decedents were located. This is a Death Investigation being handled by MPD detectives.”
