DC Goverment Gets December 24, 2025, Early Closing at 2pm but Back to Business Friday December 26th

Feds get Christmas Eve and day after Christmas. DC announces a 2pm closure and reopen on Friday and says “please enjoy the extra time with your loved ones and celebrate the season”

That’s about 3 hours extra time for most people.”

In recognition of your hard work, Mayor Bowser has authorized District Government to close at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, December 24th. The government will remain closed on Christmas Day and reopen on Friday December 26th. Please enjoy the extra time with your loved ones and celebrate the season.
