Busboys & Poets now charges a flat $3 “Green Planet Fee” for all to-go and delivery orders to cover “tote bags, compostable containers, and biodegradable flatware.” That seems a little steep to me given that my nearest Busboys location usually omits the flatware (despite my specific request for it in my online order) and still packages items in regular ‘ole paper bags (not those reusable tote bags).
By the time you pay this extra $3 fee plus any other delivery app fees, taxes, and tips, the cost of a single meal is so high that it makes you think twice about ordering in the first place. Are other restaurants charging a similar fee?“
