I’m a displaced Floridian living in the district. DC is great and all, but I really, *really* miss seeing reptiles all the time and was considering owning one as a pet, however, DC pet laws are a little vague if you know about animals… Here’s what they say:
Only non-venomous snakes and turtles are specified here, which is weird to me considering how much more popular pets like Leopard Geckos and Bearded Dragons are.
Specifically, I am looking at keeping either a Yellow Ackie Monitor or Blue Tongue Skink. If anyone has any experience keeping these pets in the district, or anything similar, I would really appreciate more information on how to move forward!”
