“Dear PoPville,
I was heading back to my apartment today (Monday), running late for a meeting after going to grab lunch between calls. I was walking past Seaton Elementary thinking about the 50 things I need to do when I get back to my computer and not paying much attention to my surroundings as I also had Sabrina Carpenter blasting in my earphones (whoops!).
I looked up at the last second and a man was gesturing between himself and me, and he asked
“AmeriCorps?” as we were both wearing AmeriCorps gear. I just laughed and said “yeah!” and kept walking, and it took me a bit longer than it should have to realize he may have wanted to chat with me. I turned around to glance behind me and he was turned around looking back at me too, but I was still so distracted thinking about my silly work tasks I kept going. I made it another block and realized I should have stopped, but it was too late at that point.
