2411 18th Street, NW
From a press release:
“A longtime staple of the 18th Street Corridor is entering a bold new chapter. Tiki on 18th, previously divided between the tropical-inspired upstairs bar and The Game Sports Pub downstairs, is officially rebranding into a singular, elevated concept that blends Filipino culinary traditions with refined craft and island-style tiki cocktails. The new look, spread over two floors, complete with revamped food menu, new dynamic cocktail menus and live DJs, spinning just in time for summery spring evenings.
Driven by the creative forces of celebrated DC industry leaders Jo-Jo Valenzuela and Oscar Guardado, the newly reimagined two-floor restaurant will debut an inspired new menu and cohesive experience.
“We wanted to create something truly special to D.C.—something rooted in our heritage but elevated in execution,” says Jo-Jo Valenzuela. “Tiki cocktails are about escapism and fun, but for us, it was also about storytelling—integrating these drinks with Filipino ingredients and soul.”
The reimagined Tiki on 18th wouldn’t be complete without its new look—crafted by visionary designer Naii Vegas, founder of Creative Buildr Studio. A Venezuelan creative force based in Washington, D.C., Naii’s work brings together craftsmanship, modernism, and storytelling in a way that reflects both identity and innovation. Inspired by the rich Polynesian culture and the vibrant energy of tropical escapes, this Tiki Bar concept blends traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary twist. The design embraces natural materials like bamboo, rattan, and reclaimed wood, creating an immersive and inviting atmosphere. Warm lighting, lush greenery, and handcrafted Tiki carvings enhance the authenticity, while a curated selection of seating—from high bar stools to cozy lounge areas—encourages social interaction. This concept is thoughtfully designed to fit seamlessly within the lively community of Adams Morgan, offering an escape from the urban rush while maintaining a modern, stylish appeal.
From the vibrant textures to the thoughtful spatial flow, every detail of the redesign was curated to support Tiki on 18th’s transformation into a destination where Filipino heritage and island escapism coexist.
Offering a curated menu of Filipino dishes, immersive cocktails, vibrant late-night energy, and community-driven experiences—all under one roof. Happy Hours is 7 days a week featuring $10 cocktails and fan favorites for food. Some of the original favorites have made it back on the menu, like Jo-Jo’s Pansit with crispy pork belly, vegetables and cornstarch noodles. And another staple, Salmon Curry with ginger, coconut milk and served with a side of fluffy steamed rice.
“This is the kind of space that evolves with your night,” says Oscar Guardado. “We’ve designed something that feels seamless and intentional, no matter when you arrive.”
Alongside the rebrand comes a bold new beverage program that raises the bar. The cocktail list has been reimagined from the ground up, featuring inventive drinks that blend tropical escapism with refined technique and unexpected Filipino twists. From the luxurious Gin Pom Elite (an ode to the Philippine modern-classic Gin Pomelo) to the playful Monkey Business (with crème de banana and vanilla-pandan), each cocktail tells a story and is crafted with purpose.
Highlights include:
● Julieta – A crisp and refreshing watermelon-forward cocktail with a delightful white pepper finish.
● Pistachio Mustachio – A rich blend of gin, pistachio, cardamom, and pineapple foam that dances between elegance and whimsy.
● Smoke Gets In Your Eyes – A sultry, mezcal-driven drink layered with chili mole bitters and spiced pineapple gomme.
● Cliffs of Dover – A strawberry-tinkered bourbon cocktail that’s as refined as it is bold.
The revamped menu is a clear step forward for the brand—moving beyond playful tiki to showcase serious craftsmanship and cultural depth. Guests can also expect an organic-focused wine list, featuring a curated sparkling, white, and red.
