From a press release:
“Barry’s, the original high-energy cardio and strength interval training workout studio, is set to open its third D.C. area location at The Yards, joining its other studios in Arlington and DuPont Circle. The newest location in the historic waterfront neighborhood will be at the Boilermaker Shops at 300 Tingey St. SE, Ste 120, and is scheduled to open on February 1.
Offering its signature RUN x LIFT classes, which blends interval-based cardio routines on the treadmill with functional strength training on the floor, Barry’s Navy Yard will provide a dynamic group fitness experience to clients, coined “The Best Workout in the World™” since its inception 26 years ago. Those who prefer to opt out of running can sign up for a “double floor” option for additional strength training. Each day focuses on different muscle groups, allowing each class to be as effective as it is fun (Upper Body, Lower Body, Abs and Ass, Total Body).
Barry’s signature Red Room features iconic dim red lights, antimicrobial rubberized flooring, a booming sound system with specially curated playlists from best-in-class instructors, weights, bands, benches and state-of-the-art Woodway treadmills.
In addition to its iconic Red Room, Barry’s Navy Yard location will feature the brand’s retail boutique and signature Fuel Bar, serving pre-and-post workout shakes with nutritionist-approved recipes made with the highest quality whole food-based ingredients that aid in fitness goals and recovery. Additional premium amenities include full men’s and women’s locker rooms stocked with Dyson hair dryers and OUAI’s best-selling products.
In its 26-year history, Barry’s has expanded to encompass more than 89 studios across 15 countries worldwide. Barry’s prides itself on its strong diversity, inclusion and belonging efforts, and its studios serve as a safe and inclusive space for all who walk through its doors. More than just a fitness studio, Barry’s has evolved into a lifestyle brand, nurturing a global community.
“The D.C.-area has been incredibly welcoming of our workout and community,” said Barry’s Global Co-CEO JJ Gantt. “In fact, prior to joining Barry’s, I was a Founding Member of the Dupont Circle location when Barry’s first arrived in DC in 2017. We’re grateful to the incredible communities at both our Dupont Circle and Arlington locations and are excited to offer another Red Room for Barry’s clients to work hard, have fun, and find community. Navy Yard is a fantastic neighborhood that’s rapidly growing and evolving, and we’re thrilled to add our third studio in the DC Metro area in this historical building.”
