“Handcraft Doughnuts is the dream of husband and wife team Kara Terrell and Ike Emejuru who aspired to create a community in Washington D.C., centered around small batch, handmade, fresh artisanal doughnuts, and making good memories.
The couple began their wild journey into the pastry world after their love of travel and adventure led them to some very unique pastry experiences. It turns out that their most memorable experience was in Kenya, alongside a beautiful giraffe named Daisy, where they shared pastries together.
They enrolled in a local doughnut-making class, spent time working on recipes, bootstrapped in a commercial kitchen, and two years later, the rest was history.”
