“The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation is proud to announce the grand opening of ALDI at Art Place at Fort Totten, delivering an affordable, high-quality grocery store to the greater Northeast D.C. community.
The store is ALDI’s second location in Washington, D.C., and part of The Cafritz Foundation’s expansive two-million-square-foot mixed-use development in the Fort Totten neighborhood.
As part of the event, ALDI will offer gift cards ranging from $10 to $100 for the first 100 customers, a chance to win free produce for a year, branded tote bags and keychains. Light refreshments will be provided.
The grand opening on Thursday, December 5th will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony with remarks from Jane Cafritz, President and CEO of The Cafritz Foundation, Councilmember At-Large Kenyan R. McDuffie, ALDI District Manager Andrew Heisig and other community leaders.
