Yo!! “Hi-Lawn at Union Market Will Soon Unveil THE DOME – A Spherical, Immersive “Gastro-Gallery Under the Stars” Opening December 2024”

From a press release:

“Hi-Lawn, one of Washington, DC’s largest rooftops, above Union Market, is thrilled to soon unveil “The Dome” – a spherical, immersive “gastro-gallery under the stars” experience, starting this winter. Part visual show, part transportive dining and drinking experience, The Dome will launch with its inaugural time ticketed activation: “Snowglow” – a European winter-inspired pop-up featuring state-of-the-art overhead projection, paired with artful cocktail presentations and Alpine-inspired fare. Snowglow at The Dome is expected to open in December 2024.

VISUAL EXPERIENCE

Snowglow at The Dome will take guests on a truly unforgettable immersive 90-minute visual journey of winter landscapes and surreal northern lights. Projected above and 360 degrees around the walls of the dome, the awe-inspiring visual experience will transport the viewer to a world of winter scenes that both inspire and elate.

The Northern lights, snow-filled landscapes, star-lit skies and the embers of a fire, amidst rustic architecture reminiscent of Swiss alpine villages, and more, all combine to provide an abstraction from the normal and an experience not soon forgotten. Each frame is designed to pull you into a different world – a place where you’re not just watching but truly experiencing the magic of winter.

SPACE

Located on the Rooftop at Union Market, Hi-Lawn will install a 50-foot spherical dome high above the bustle of the city, heated and designed with a wintry forest-meets-chic après ski aesthetic. For “Snowglow,” the 60-seat dome will be outfitted with over a dozen secluded dining alcoves: cozy and inviting spaces for guests to eat, drink and take in the overhead projected experience.

Lush greenery and trees will evoke the feel of a winter forest landscape, accented by warm wood tones and cozy tartan textiles, plus an interactive winter ski lift backdrop for guests to capture photos. The illuminated exterior resembles a snow globe atop the vibrant market below, whimsically lit from the inside with falling snow projections.

COCKTAILS

At Snowglow at The Dome, cocktails are artfully-presented, inspired by the Alpine regions of Europe. Guests will find an elegant tableside martini service, bottled walnut Manhattans, candy-garnished Grasshoppers, and an assortment of hot drinks (such as a toasted marshmallow whipped cream-topped spiked & spiced hot chocolate, and a soothing honey schnapps-spiked hot tea tonic), designed to warm guests up from the inside out.

FOOD

To pair with the creative beverages, Snowglow at The Dome is embracing European-inspired comfort foods, with an a la carte menu of shareable small plates from esteemed chef Nathan Beauchamp. Chef Beauchamp, a 25+ year culinary veteran who has worked with notable chefs such as David Burke and Tom Colicchio and helmed some of DC’s finest and Michelin-honored restaurants, is currently partner/culinary director for Blagden Hospitality Group (owner of other concepts such as Tiger Fork and Calico).

Guests will find comfort in dishes such as fondue raclette, luxe lobster bisque, and seasonal smørrebrød, plus a filet-for-two. And for dessert, expect sweet fondue presentations and homemade truffles.

The Dome at Hi-Lawn is expected to open with “Snowglow” in December 2024, and full details and menus will be released soon. Tickets are $35/person (which includes entry to The Dome, a reserved secluded dining pod, the 90-minute visual experience, and a welcome liquid amuse) and will go on pre-sale on November 13, with public sale on November 15. Food and drinks will be sold a la carte. For more information, please visit www.thedomedc.com and follow @hilawndc.”
