Protected Bike and Bus Lanes emerging on Columbia Road

A few spots are already taking shape:

From DDOT:

“Columbia Rd NW is a vibrant corridor and an important roadway for people walking, biking, driving, and riding the bus. It is a key connection between neighborhoods in the District and a densely developed corridor where people live, work, shop, and access other destinations. This confluence of mobility and access leads to a busy, congested corridor that has a history of unsafe conditions and severe crashes.

Construction Update (as of 9/5/2024): Work began in July 2024. West of 18th St NW, concrete work is nearing completion and the street will be repaved and striped in September. East of 18th St NW, concrete work will begin the week of September 16th and will be followed by repaving and striping in mid- to late-October.”
