14th and V Street, NW
From a press release:
“Busboys and Poets, the iconic cultural hub known for its blend of food, art, and social activism, is excited to announce the reopening of its flagship location at 14th & V Streets. After a brief closure for renovation, the beloved venue will officially welcome guests back on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM for lunch.
In celebration of its 19th anniversary, which marks just one year shy of its 20th milestone, Busboys and Poets has undergone a significant transformation. The renovation includes a fresh new look with updated paint, a state-of-the-art sound system, a redesigned bar, and an impressive array of new artwork. This upgrade enhances the space while preserving the unique spirit and community vibe that patrons have cherished since its inception on September 7, 2005.
To kick off the reopening, Busboys and Poets will host a special event featuring a free open mic night starting at 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024. This event is open to all, offering an opportunity for local talent to shine and for the community to come together in celebration. RSVP Required. Tickets available at busboysandpoets.com/events
The festivities continue throughout the weekend as Busboys and Poets celebrates its anniversary with a special brunch offer. On September 7-8, 2024, guests can enjoy a complimentary mimosa or Bloody Mary with their brunch meals. A non-alcoholic version will also be available for those who prefer it. This special treat is our way of thanking our loyal patrons and welcoming new friends to experience the refreshed space. This special is available at the flagship 14th & V location only.
“We’re thrilled to reopen our doors and celebrate nearly two decades of service to our community,” said Andy Shallal, owner of Busboys and Poets. “The renovation is a reflection of our commitment to providing a vibrant, inclusive space where people can connect, enjoy great food, and engage in meaningful conversations.”
