Missed Connection – Solar Eclipse at Lincoln Park

“Dear PoPville,

We sat next to each other at Lincoln Park while we read our books and watched the solar eclipse. She handed out

extra glasses to the unprepared while I pretended not to look at her, admiring her thoughtfulness. She asked me to watch her belongings while she stepped away, a task I successfully completed. Less successful, however, was my attempt at small talk when I was preparing to leave. After making some thoroughly awkward statements, we exchanged names, but I fell short of asking for her number, perhaps with the anticipation of a future serendipitous encounter. Two weeks later, and I’m starting to think serendipity could use some help. So, if she’s reading this and feels that our brief connection remains unexplored, then let’s meet up.”

Ed. Note: If this is you, please email [email protected] so I can put you in touch with OP. PoPville is not affiliated with either party, please proceed with any potential connection at your own risk using caution as you would any online encounter. For those curious about past missed connections, many have been made and when possible I’ll try to update when/if more are made.

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
