From a press release:

Sixty Vines, the restaurant known for its revolutionary wine on-tap program and vineyard-inspired cuisine, will open its first DC location on May 15. Located in the heart of the Foggy Bottom neighborhood on Washington Circle, the new restaurant invites guests to sip and savor 60 different wines on tap selected from wine country regions around the globe. Sixty Vines will also share chef-driven dishes inspired by the seasons and made with fresh, local ingredients- perfect for wine pairing. Spanning over 11,000 square feet, the new restaurant offers an immersive dining experience, featuring indoor and patio seating, a full bar, and a greenhouse for private events. The restaurant will also offer third-party delivery.

With a deep commitment to sustainability, Sixty Vines offers an eco-friendly approach to serving wine and the closest “from the barrel” tasting experience for guests to enjoy by the glass, flight, or bottle. Each keg holds 26 bottles and can be reused around 1,500 times over its refillable lifetime, so with every glass you enjoy, you’re sipping sustainably. Selections include a variety of reds, rosés, and whites sourced from iconic winemakers, along with a variety of cocktails and mocktails.

“We love the vibrant community in and around Foggy Bottom and look forward to connecting with locals, university students, hospital staff, and Metro commuters,” said Jeff Carcara, CEO of Sixty Vines. “Our approachable ‘pinkies down’ approach will be an ideal match for the area. Whether you’re enjoying a meal or sampling new pours, we’re all about inspiring a sense of adventure and discovery.”

Open for brunch, lunch, and dinner, the restaurant prides itself on a “pinkies down” approach to both wine and food, as guests are invited to enjoy an abundance of shareable selections in the restaurant’s open, communal seating style. Signature staples include custom charcuterie boards, seasonal shareables, hand-tossed pizzas and wood fired entrees dishes. Entrées include an array of homemade pasta dishes, vibrant seafood like Atlantic Salmon and Grilled Halibut, and hearty items such as the Double Cabernet Burger and Wood Grilled Bavette Steak. Dessert favorites include Sticky Toffee Cake, Basque Cheesecake, and Deviled Affogato. In addition, Sixty Vines offers an extensive gluten-free menu and provides an option to make most menu items gluten free.

Sixty Vines is located at 200 Pennsylvania Avenue NW Washington, DC, and is open for lunch, dinner, and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
