Shooting Homicide in Adams Morgan last night, Four other shootings reported elsewhere

Thanks to all who messaged us last night: “homicide at Marie Reid Park. Looked like the crime happened on the soccer field steps.”

From MPD just before 9pm: “Shooting in the 2200 b/o 18th Street NW. Lookout for Suspect lookout is: B/M with several tattoos, chubby, around 190lbs, 6 ft tall, last seen wearing dark clothing with a tan camel colored bucket hat.”

The third district is investigating a shooting in the 2100 block of 18th St NW. Anyone with information can call 202-727-9099 or text 50411.”

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, in the 2200 Champlain Street, Northwest.

At approximately 8:24 pm, Third District officers responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male shooting victim. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, the victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The decedent has been identified as 30-year-old Arnold Humberto Solis, of Northwest, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.”

LOOKOUT: Late model gray Volvo station wagon with heavily tinted windows last seen eastbound on Pennsylvania Avenue.”

“Alert: Shooting Investigation in the 1800 block of Maryland Ave NE. No Lookout.”

“Alert: Shooting Investigation in the 400 hundred block of Condon Ter SE . No Lookout.”

and unconfirmed but a reader reported hearing multiple shots fired in Park View around 1:30am on the 700 blk Princeton Place, NW.
