“Dear PoPville,
Last year’s 4th of July this cute girl and I had the same idea of checking if we could see the fireworks from our building’s rooftop in West End. There were signs saying it was not allowed, but we arrived at the same time, both had no plans, and the door was open, so we watched for a few minutes until we got kicked out. Since my hopes of meeting up again around the building are disappearing and it’s almost the 4th again, perhaps this year we could watch them in the Kennedy Center? Or any (allowed) rooftop around town?
PS: Last year, after saying goodbye in the elevator and realizing too late I should have proposed to go somewhere else, I ran downstairs (as you said you lived in the first floor) to see if you were still around. You were not. It was like a bad rom-com scene and I ended up watching alone from my window. Hope this year we get luckier, or at least we can get a coffee sometime!”
