“Dear PoPville,

I was in the Trader Joe’s on Wisconsin Ave (Tuesday around 1pm) when I kept running into a guy in the store. He was bald with a beard and was wearing a quarters zip blue sweatshirt. We ended up at the checkout line together and he proceeded to try and grab a chocolate bar and ended up knocking over a few and we shared a laugh. If he is single (and interested) I’d love to meet up for a drink.”

“Dear PoPville,

I figured I’d give this a shot. At Trouble Bird in Navy Yard around 10pm on Wednesday 3/01, I almost bumped into him while trying to get around him. He looked like he’d come over from Albi to met up with his friends and was standing by their booth. We kept stealing glances at each other and made eye contact again after he’d sat down. I was the tall brunette in the purple pea coat standing by the door. He was the cute, dark-haired guy with facial scruff who sat at the end of the front booth. My friend and I were leaving; otherwise I would’ve come over and said hello!”

“I was on a green line train this (thursday) evening and noticed a handsome bearded guy with brown hair and a blue jacket laughing kind of loudly with his friend. Before and after his friend got off the train at Columbia Heights, we exchanged a few glances. We both got off the train at Georgia Ave around 7:15 or 7:20, I went up one escalator, and he went up the other.

I’m an average build blond guy with a full beard, i was wearing a pastel orange oxford shirt.”

“Missed Connection: We were both at the WeWork Navy Yard on Wednesday, March 1st on the first floor. I was in one of the booths next to the window. You were taking a video call at one of the small tables adjacent. We kept making eye contact, especially when either of us got up to grab a drink. I got the feeling there was some connection. Anyways, I thought you were super cute, and was hoping to use a cheesy pick-up line like, “hey, do you mind watching my bag for a minute” to break the ice, but didn’t run into you again that day.

You: Female, brunette, ponytail, light-washed jeans and a hoodie

Me: Male, curly, dirty blond, also light-washed jeans and a long-sleeved blue t-shirt”

“Back in January I’ve laid my eyes on the finest man ever. I ran into him and his friend on Connecticut and M st NW. He had on a Maroon suit with a matching hat. Slim built and fine. He even complimented my glasses which made me blush hard. Please help me find my possible soulmate.”

Ed. Note: If this is you, please email [email protected] so I can put you in touch with OP. PoPville is not affiliated with either party, please proceed with any potential connection at your own risk using caution as you would any online encounter. For those curious about past missed connections, many have been made and when possible I’ll try to update when/if more are made. The Doubles MC was made!

The Potomac Roasting Company is stocked with excellent coffee to meet almost any palate. But that’s not the only good news. We now offer free shipping for orders over $35.

The Potomac Roasting Company is a local micro-roaster specializing in artisan coffee. We precision roast high-quality beans sourced from small farms in Latin America and Africa that are owned and operated by women. We will make sure that your coffee is roasted the way you want it and delivered fresh.

Our newest coffee comes from Mbozi, Tanzania. We secured a shipment just before this small batch of delicious beans sold out. In Swahili, Usawa means balance and Kahawa means coffee. The beans are grown on small farms that are part of a cooperative promoting gender equity and market access for women. This is a smooth and balanced coffee that is sure to please.

We also received coffee shipments that were delayed following the tragic collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. That includes the most recent harvest of La Morena coffee beans from Huehuetenango, Guatemala. We have plenty in stock, so that you can stock up! Rounding out our specialty coffee choices are fresh roasts from prime coffee-producing regions of Colombia and Peru.
