“Jury Duty debit card issues?”

“Dear PoPville,

Anyone have this happen? When I called to get the debit card authorized, the recorded voice tells me the account doesn’t exist (after following the “Please input the number on the card” instruction). Tried to locate customer service – couldn’t. I don’t need the $7 travel stipend, and wasn’t going to authorize anyway, but…

Now I’m curious! I figure most people wouldn’t spend more than 30 seconds trying to figure out whats up, and simply cast the card aside. Hate to think of a whole stack of $7 debit cards going to waste, wrecking DC Courts bottom line.

Just curious if this is a unique situation? Or if others have experienced the same?

I believe I’ve followed the directions, which are basically don’t call til after 5pm the day of your jury service (full disclosure I didn’t call until the following day).”
