How to Prepare for a Professional Home Cleaning

If you’re new to getting your home professionally cleaned, you might have some questions, namely: How should I prepare?

You don’t want to be that person who the cleaners gossip about being a total mess. (That won’t happen at Well-Paid Maids — promise.) Nor do you want to do so much preparing that, well, it feels like you don’t even need a cleaner anymore.

With Well-Paid Maids, all we need you to do is follow these 3 simple steps:

  1. Provide clear instructions.

When you book your home cleaning with us online, you’ll see a “Home access instructions/parking/other notes” section. That’s where you’ll drop in any specific instructions you have for our cleaners. This could include:

  • Which rooms you want cleaned (or if any are off limits).
  • Entry instructions if you won’t be home.
  • Any special pet instructions.
  • Anything else you want us to know!

Our cleaners will review your notes prior to arrival.

  1. Put items in their places.

To ensure we can give you the best possible experience — and cleanest possible home — it’s greatly appreciated if you can clear any clutter. No need to go through that closet or those junk drawers. All we mean is to put things in their places — dirty clothes in hampers, toys in boxes, takeout containers in the trash.

  1. Provide feedback.

Our cleaners love feedback! After your home is cleaned, let your cleaner know how they did. That way, when you book your next cleaning (yes, you can request the same cleaner if you’d like), they can do an even better job.

And, as always, if you aren’t satisfied, we aren’t satisfied. Give us a call, and we’ll schedule you a free follow-up cleaning. (But we must brag on our amazing cleaners and say this is rare!)
