Meet Scar! This 2 year old is a happy, content, laid-back cat. Dude just wants to chill out, man! Scar is a great, easygoing boy who is grateful for the food and the love. He’s super friendly, likes people (he’s figured out more people = more pets), and is curious, but he isn’t very high-energy. In fact, Scar spends most of his energy either scratching his horizontal cat scratcher with abandon or demanding that you pet him and give him attention. He likes to play once or twice a day, and he’ll let you know it’s play time by bringing you the feather wand or a ball in his mouth.

A sure way to win Scar’s heart is to break out the cat brush. He thinks being brushed is the BEST THING EVER and absolutely loses his mind purring. When all the affection is said and done, Scar will simply lay down nearby to rest to his heart’s content, or he might lean right up against you and take a little nap. He will perk up if he sees you heading to the kitchen and will follow and chat with you to see what’s happening in the food department.

Finally, Scar has a quiet trill and he can have a good conversation or pep talk with you when it’s needed. So, are you looking for a loving, well mannered, and easygoing feline friend? If you want to chill with the best dude, apply to adopt Scar!

Meet Rambler! He is a friendly, adventurous, loyal redheaded guy who would love to be your new forever-friend.

Rambler enjoys the simpler things in life: walks, pets, exploring the outdoors, and lounging around the house. Rambler is filled with curiosity. He LOVES walk time (leisurely stroll around the neighborhood? Yes, please!) and has no problem approaching a new friend and asking for pets. Rambler is a lovebug at heart who will always let you know how much he adores you and when he wants attention! Most of the time, though, he is just happy to chill with you and relax.

This friendly guy isn’t just good looks and an expert walker; he also has been picking up his training quickly and already knows the words “sit,” “stay,” “come,” and “shake paws.” While Rambler is still getting accustomed to being in a crate, he will happily hang out around the house and amuse himself if his humans are busy. This sweet boy is looking to settle down in his forever home…Give this sweet boy his forever home, and apply to adopt Rambler

Liza is a 3 year old New Zealand rabbit up for adoption- once she gets to know you, she is very affectionate and playful! She gets along with friendly dogs and is litterbox trained. She had a home, but someone got allergies and she couldn’t stay. Liza is in foster but is available for adoption through the HRA link here

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
