“Dear PoPville,

I had a missed connection at the Caps/Pens game tonight (Thursday) that I’d love to find.

We were at Rocket Bar before the game started (around 7pm) and a man who introduced himself as “Chase” wearing a Caps jersey and a backwards hat came up to my friend and I, but then had to leave to go to the game. I was so flustered that I didn’t give him my name or ask for his number. We tried to call his name at the game but were not able to locate him. Hard to find one person among 20k fans. This is me shooting my shot, which I should have done at the time.”

“On Wednesday, January 25 around 5:15pm, I (light blue rain coat) was waiting for the bus in the rain on the corner of H & 4th St NE. You (dark rain jacket and GW beanie) appeared with an umbrella and asked if I “Want(ed) some cover?”

It felt like the scene from My Neighbor Totoro waiting for the bus with you under your umbrella. I was hoping you might sit near me on the bus, but that didn’t happen. Regardless I’m grateful for your kindness and helping me stay dry in the rain!”

“We walked into the Adams Morgan Safeway at the same time yesterday (Thurs 1/26 around 5:45 – 6 PM). I grabbed a cart after you and we briefly made eye contact as we headed off to do our shopping. It happened one or two more times when we passed in the aisles but I thought it might’ve just been coincidence until we ended up in different check out lanes and shared a little bit longer glance over the magazine racks.

You: tall brunette gal wearing tan/khaki pants, long dark winter coat/parka, and a headband.

Me: tall brown-haired guy with a beard in the dark blue jacket with leather trim who wishes he’d chosen a different lane.

If you’re out there, I’d love to buy you a drink at Jack Rose sometime soon!”

Ed. Note: If any of these are you, please email [email protected] so I can put you in touch with OP. PoPville is not affiliated with either party, please proceed with any potential connection at your own risk using caution as you would any online encounter. For those curious about past missed connections, many have been made and when possible I’ll try to update when/if more are made. A few folks reached out to attend the Yelle concert with the French popstar edition MC.
