Real Estate Fresh Finds: December 7

Real Estate Fresh Finds is a weekly selection of newly-listed properties in the District, brought to you by RLAH Real Estate.

Featured Property of the Week: 650 Wharf Street SW #91

“Dreaming of a unique lifestyle? Welcome to Gangplank Marina and National Debt, a 1985 Hilburn 55 Custom. This recently remodeled boat has a new kitchen, bathroom, and closet space in the bedroom. All new appliances in the full size kitchen with more counter space than some single family homes in D.C.! A large rooftop deck for relaxing and an area in the back to slip a kayak off and kayak around the Potomac. The engine has been removed, so less stress on upkeep. National Debt is like a floating condo/coop, but less expensive! One of the best buys for the area and no property tax bill. The boat also has a mini split level for comfort year round. The rights for a slip lease is included in the sale of National Debt. There is a monthly slip and liveaboard fee that can be paid annually as a discount. Currently the slip and liveaboard fee is $1,429.75, but will increase with the new owner. Connection to water and electricity is included with regular pumpouts. The other nice thing is, if you want, you have the ability to sell the boat and replace it with a newer boat of the same length. Being sold furnished. Gangplank Marina is the largest liveaboard community on the East Coast. In the shadow of The Wharf you have everything in your backyard from world class restaurants to Gordon Ramsay’s Fish and Chips. Entertainment and shopping are certainly not lacking and people watching is considered a hobby. You will never be bored here, just on a liveaboard. And to quote an NPR article about Gangplank — “Gangplank Marina is a laid-back community of about 150 boat-dwellers who care less about your professional pedigree than about the beer you’re bringing to happy hour.” And boy are there happy hours! There’s always something to celebrate. Founded in 1977 this hip neighborhood is one of the most eclectic and in my opinion the best neighborhood in the DMV. Gangplank isn’t just a community, it’s a lifestyle.

This rental is located at MacArthur Blvd near Q St NW. The Craigslist ad says:

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
