National Pupusa Day at El Tamarindo Sunday! (11/13)

From an email:

“El Tamarindo, Washington D.C.’s legendary Salvadoran and Mexican restaurant, marks National Pupusa Day Sunday, November 13th with an all-day celebration done in partnership with the D.C. Mayor’s Office on Latino Affairs.

We’ve partnered with Taqueria Xochi to offer Birria Pupusas that will only be available at El Tamarindo on National Pupusa Day.

El Tamarindo will donate 10% of proceeds (12PM-4PM) from National Pupusa Day to the Migrant Solidarity Mutual Aid Network. The Migrant Solidarity Mutual Aid Network will distribute collected winter items to newly bused-in immigrant families and will use donated funds to purchase additional items to meet some of the families’ needs. Hope For Wellness will also be on site collecting new or gently used (clean, excellent condition) winter items of all sizes such as coats, gloves, scarves, sweaters, hats, sneakers, boots for these families. New, unopened toys are also welcomed!”

Menus:

“National Pupusa Day festivities at El Tamarindo start at 12 PM with family friendly fun including food and drink specials, live music, a Latin market featuring local makers, and a pupusa-making workshop. El Tamarindo will not accept reservations during National Pupusa Day but tables will be first come, first serve. Not to worry, there are many other activities Pupusa Day goers can do such as browse the Latin market which will consist of local vendors and makers selling goods from across Washington, Maryland, and Virginia, dance to live and DJ performances, or make their own pupusas during a workshop from 12 PM-2 PM. National Pupusa Day at El Tamarindo continues until 4 PM and is free and open to the public.

National Pupusa Day stages Sunday, November 13 from 12 PM-4 PM at El Tamarindo which is located at 1785 Florida Avenue NW. Food and drink specials are available from open to close.”

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
