“Dear PoPville,
I feel a little silly sending this, except that it was an unexpectedly fun moment and I’d regret not taking my shot at following up. At the Tenleytown CVS at about 9 am Wednesday (10/26), as I walked down the aisle towards the pharmacy, I noticed a woman staring intensely at the selection of lipstick, and couldn’t resist a playful comment about her seeming to be in the zone as far as scrutinizing the choices. She laughed and confessed that she was simultaneously listening in on a conference call. A few minutes later we crossed paths as I exited, and smiled at each other.
She had light blonde hair and was wearing a black sweater and brown slacks; I had a lightweight black Patagonia jacket, blue jeans, and a dark blue shirt, along with gray hair.
Separate from that, I want to give props to the pharmacy staff there, especially Kwame and Abebe–but, really, to everyone I’ve encountered there. They’ve been consistently friendly and helpful, even when they’re slammed.”
