Missed Connection – “a weird one”

“Dear PoPville,

So, this is a weird one:

I had a doctor’s appointment, Friday, Sept. 30th, at a neurologist’s office in DC and I spent a considerable amount of time with a nurse as she was doing a diagnostic test on me. We had a really great conversation about my Kindle and what books I was reading and what books she was reading and our disdain for work culture, and we seemed to align on both interests and politics. The conversation was so good that I was thinking to myself in the moment that this doctor’s appointment was better than a lot of first dates I’d been on.

I don’t lack confidence when it comes to asking women out, but I know how inappropriate it would be to give my number to someone who is actively on shift; regardless I can’t help but think that I might have missed an opportunity at some serendipitous connection, so I guess I’m shooting my shot.”

Ed. Note: If this is you, please email [email protected] so I can put you in touch with OP. PoPville is not affiliated with either party, please proceed with any potential connection at your own risk using caution as you would any online encounter. For those curious about past missed connections, many have been made and when possible I’ll try to update when/if more are made. The Elton John concert MC was made! Update, gah so close! Wasn’t the same person, so if you’re still out there Elton John MC – email us!

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
