Update from Pop’s SeaBar: “currently working on a licensing issue, hopeful the issue will be resolved soon”

1817 Columbia Road, NW

Update from Pop’s SeaBar:

“Like many spots in DC in the last couple of weeks, we are currently working on a licensing issue with the city. We’re hopeful the issue will be resolved soon, and look forward to welcoming all of our friends and neighbors back as soon as possible!”

Further updates when we learn of a reopening date.

A few readers have been writing in with concern: “Any idea why pops sea bar is closed? It’s been closed the past few days.”

“Pop’s posted on Instagram last week “Keep crushin’ on us, please”, but I walked by and there’s no sign of life. For what it’s worth, the “temporarily closed” sign is gone.

I also called earlier today and there was no answer. I hope everything is OK! The bartenders have always been so friendly there.”

Ed. Note: I also called but it went to voicemail and the mailbox is full. Google has them listed as “temporarily closed”:
